There was mixed luck for a number of Clare schools in Munster colleges hurling and football championships this Tuesday and Wednesday.

With a strong Clare squad in their line up, Ard Scoil Ris from Limerick qualified for the Dr. Harty cup semi-final when they scored a 1-22 to 1-17 win over Our Lady’s Templemore.

They will be joined in the semi-finals by Cashel C. S. who were 1-13 to 0-13 winners over CBC, Cork, Midleton CBS who defeated De La Salle Waterford ( 2-15 to 0-16) and by Thurles CBS who were 1-16 to 0-17 winners over St. Colmans Fermoy.

In a quarter final game in the senior B hurling for Corn Thomais Mhic Choilm, Rice College Ennis suffered a two point defeat from Charleville CBS, the North Cork school winning on a scoreline of 4-19 to 3-20.

Ennistymon CBS progressed to the semi-finals of the under 19 C hurling competition for Corn Risteard Ui Mhathuna when they scored a 1-13 to 0-10 win over Ard Scoil na Mara, Tramore.

St. Josephs Spanish Point bowed out of the under 16.5 C football competition when they lost out to Presentation College Mardyke on a 3-6 to 3-10 scoreline.

Kilrush Community school lost out to Scoil Ruain, Killenaule in the opening round of the under 16.5 D football, going down on a scorseline of 1-12 to 3-2

Meanwhile on Tuesday in the under 19 E football competition quarter final, St. Michael’s Kilmihil were 3-5 to 1-7 winners over Waterpark College from Waterford.

On the same day, St. John Bosco Community college, Kildysart scored a comfortable 7-14 to 1-2 win over Gaelcholaiste Mhuire, Cork.

Two under 16.5 D football games involving Clare schools were postponed and its expected that St.Colmans Community college Midleton v Mary Immaculate college Lisdoonvarna and the clash of St. Anne’s Killaloe with Beara Community school will be re-scheduled.
