Status Red Weather Warning

CO CLARE is under a status yellow weather warning until 12pm on Monday.

Met Éireann on Saturday issue a yellow wind warning for Clare, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo. Sunday night is forecast to be very wind, this is to continue into Monday morning with further heavy showers. Southeasterly winds, veering southwesterly will reach mean speeds of 50 – 65km/h with gusts of 90 – 110km/h, this will be higher near coasts and exposed areas. The warning is valid until 12pm on Monday.

All of Munster and Connacht is under a status yellow rain and wind warning. From Sunday afternoon, a spell of heavy rain will move northwards along with strengthening southeasterly winds. Disruption is expected including spot flooding. This is valid until 10pm on Sunday night.

As of Saturday night, 127 homes in Cratloe are without power.

Strong winds left over 1,200 households in West and North Clare without power on Saturday morning. Close to 983 homes in Ennistymon and over 200 households in Kilrush and surrounding areas were impacted. An approximate 80 homes in Ennis were affected by the outages. It followed a thunderstorm warning for the county.
