EIGHT CLARE NOMINEES are in the hunt for honours at The Irish Hospitality Awards.

A high number of nominations made by the public via the social media channels of The Irish Hospitality Awards have resulted in no less than eight different Clare entities receiving multiple nominations.

Aillwee Cave and Birds of Prey Centre in Ballyvaughan is in the running for โ€˜Family Venue of the Yearโ€™, โ€˜Outdoor Venue of the Yearโ€™ and โ€˜Tourist Attraction of the Yearโ€™.

Bunratty Castle and Folk Park is nominated as both โ€˜Family Venue of the Yearโ€™ and โ€˜Tourist Attraction of the Yearโ€™.

Atlantic Air Adventures Museum in Shannon is listed as a contender for โ€˜Best Family Day Outโ€™. Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival will compete against the Fleadh Cheoil, Puck Fair, Listowel Writers Week and Galway International Arts Festival to be named โ€˜Best Irish Festivalโ€™. Also in Lisdoonvarna, The Wild Honey Inn is included among the nine venues for โ€˜Best Dining Experienceโ€™.

Fresh from hosting the KPMG Womenโ€™s Irish Open, Dromoland Castle is nominated for โ€˜Hotel of the Yearโ€™ while it is also included in the category for โ€˜Best Hotel General Managerโ€™. Lahinch Golf Club is also nominated for โ€˜Best Golf Clubโ€™. Ardilaun Guesthouse on the Gort Rd in Ennis is shortlisted for โ€˜Best B&B of the Yearโ€™

The Awards celebrate the dedication to customer service by hospitality teams, who ensure their customers receive unforgettable experiences. They acknowledge everyone who works hard to enhance the reputation of the country, from tourist attractions to restaurants and museums that promote and showcase the rich Irish heritage.

Marketing Manager of Shannon Heritage, Adrienne Oโ€™Flynn said, โ€œWe are thrilled to be shortlisted for Family Venue of the Year and Tourist Attraction of the Year. We are in good company for both of these awards, and we are delighted to be acknowledged for our customer service and dedication to providing an unforgettable experience for our customers here at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park.โ€

An independent judging panel will review supporting evidence from finalists, which includes reviews and testimonials from customers and details on various initiatives in place. The black-tie award presentation event will take place on Tuesday, 18th October at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, in Dublin.
