CILLIAN BRENNAN IS BATTLING TO be back in contention for Clare’s All-Ireland SFC qualifier with Roscommon this Saturday.

Clare travel to Croke Park to take on the beaten Connacht finalists this Saturday with the tie at headquarters commencing at 3:45pm.

Full-back Brennan missed out on Saturday’s two point win over Meath with a hamstring injury and is unlikely to feature this weekend. The twenty four year old has enjoyed a stellar National Football League campaign this year, he was forced off with injury in Clare’s Munster SFC quarter-final defeat to Limerick and was unavailable for selection in their first qualifier outing.

Goalkeeper Stephen Ryan is also unavailable for the Roscommon clash, the Kilrush man sustained an injury during a training session prior to their meeting with Limerick at the end of April and has been out of action since.

Colm Collins is understood to have a full panel to pick from apart from Brennan and Ryan. Cratloe’s Podge Collins is pushing strongly for a starting berth given the impact he made from the bench in Cusack Park, the 2013 All-Ireland SHC winner picked up a hamstring injury when introduced in the Limerick game.
