On the second attempt, the groups are now confirmed for the Clare SFC.

Monday’s draw was ruled “out of order” after adopted regulations that two seeded teams would have to be placed in the group of five were ignored. O’Garney Park in Sixmilebridge was the setting for the football draw with competitive pairings once again emerging in the race for the Jack Daly.

Reigning champions Éire Óg and last year’s semi-finalists St Breckans had been drawn together initially and like two magnets they were pulled out in the same group again. This time they are joined by St Joseph’s Miltown, Corofin and Western Gaels.

Colm Collins’ Cratloe are pitted alongside familiar opponents Lissycasey, Collins’ native club Kilmihil and last year’s quarter-finalists St Josephs Doora/Barefield.

A competitive Group 3 lies on the horizon. All four sides are under new managements for the year ahead with Kilmurry Ibrickane, Doonbeg, Ennistymon and Clondegad to square off.
