CLARE U20 boss, Michael Neylon has named his starting fifteen to take on Tipperary in Monday eveningโs Munster quarter-final.
Different formats have been introduced for the U20 hurling championship and both codes at U17 but the Munster U20 football competition remains as knockout so nothing other than a will suffice when Clare welcome Tipperary to Hennessy Memorial Park in Miltown Malbay. The tie is scheduled to start at 7pm.
Goalkeeper, Thomas Collins is ruled out with a knee injury. The promising Lissycasey netminder sustained the injury while lining out for Ennis Town FC, he has been a regular member of Tony Downeyโs starting eleven all season.
Cooraclare duo Brian McNamara and Micheรกl Garry are named in a strong midfield partnership with the Rouine cousins Eoin and Brendy of Ennistymon named at wing-forward and centre forward respectively. Eoin is joint captain of the side along with St Josephโs Doora/Barefieldโs Fionn Kelleher who is named at centre back. Kelleherโs clubmate Joe Rafferty who impressed in last yearโs Clare SFC starts at corner forward.
There are four survivors from the U20 side which were shocked when going down to Waterford 4-05 1-09 in last yearโs provincial quarter-final played in July. Goalkeeper Oisin OโLoughlin, corner back Ciaran McMahon, joint captain Rouine and Garry will be hoping for a different outcome as they face their Tipperary counterparts.
