Smith O’Briens conceded home advantage and travelled to Clarecastle for this Division 1B hurling tie which was brought forward by a week at their request and they emerged with a six point win, their second success of the campaign.

A contribution of 1-10 from Tommy Reddan steered the Killaloe side to this victory, their second of the campaign.

The winners held a two point advantage at half time when the score was 0-10 to 0-8. The game’s only goal came midway through the second half when Reddan’s long range free made it all the way to the net.
