Six new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Clare while the county’s 14 day incidence rate per 100k of the population remains below the national rate.

On Friday, the Department of Health stated six new cases of the virus were known in Co Clare. They are among the 330 additional cases nationally with 99 in Dublin, 28 in Cork, 26 in Louth, 25 in Meath, 21 in Donegal and the remaining 125 cases are spread across 19 other counties.

Clare’s 14 day incidence rate of Coronavirus per 100k of the population stands at 91.7 with the national equivalent at 113.1.

A further eight deaths related to the virus have been alerted to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre meaning 2,018 persons have now died from COVID-19 in the Republic of Ireland.
