PARTEEN native Conor Gilligan has been appointed as the Managing Director of Glanua’s Municipal Ireland & UK division.
Gilligan spent thirty one years with Roadbridge Civil Engineering Contractors, departing the company at the beginning of 2022 after close to two decades as Global Chief Executive.
Glanua specialises in the design, build and maintenance of critical water and wastewater infrastructure. In his new role, Conor will lead Glanua’s design, development, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater projects for public authorities in both Ireland and the UK.
Conor graduated from University College Cork before embarking on a career in the construction industry. He is a past pupil of St Munchin’s College.
Since finishing up with Roadbridge, Conor served as Chief Executive Officer with Derrin Group for over two years and in a principal role with GEC8 Construction Ltd for an eight month project.
Actively involved with the GAA in his locality, Conor was part of the Parteen side that claimed the Junior A hurling championship in 2005, coming on as a substitute in the final due to injury, this was his final outing for the club whom he had lined out between the posts at adult level from 1985. He is currently Chairman of Parteen/Meelick GAA Club
In 2021, Conor was a member of the eight-person committee that over eight months complied the Saffron and Blue, strategic plan for Clare GAA. He was joined by Clarecastle’s Mark O’Connell (CEO of Repucon Consulting), Kilrush native Roisin Glynn (Head of Proposition Enablement with AIB), Ogonnelloe’s Colin Kelly (CEO of Gyrogy), Eoin Conroy of Barefield (CEO of Titan Experience), Ennis man Eoin Doohan (Managing Director of DFP Group), Enda Connolly of Ennis (Managing Director of CMP Investment Partners) and Enda O’Flaherty of Shannonside now attached to the St Joseph’s Doora/Barefield club.
