*Ex Laois boss, Mick Lillis has will coach the Cooraclare footballers in 2021

Four members of Cooraclare’s senior football championship winning team from 1986 will be part of the club’s senior management team in 2021 including an ex senior inter-county manager.

Michael Garry is the new team manager and he will be joined by Michael Lillis (coach), Tom Queally(trainer and stats), Paddy Keane (trainer), Niall Murphy (selector) and Frank Roche (selector).They replace a management team headed by David Russell of St. Senans, Kilkee.

Garry, Keane, Murphy and Lillis were members of the club’s ‘86 championship winning side. Portlaoise based Lillis is a former Portlaoise club and Laois senior team manager. All have served in different selector roles with their native club in the past. Keane managed intermediate side Shannon Gaels in 2019.

Cooraclare won the last of their nine Clare senior titles in 1997. Their other titles were won in 1915, 1917, 1918, 1945, 1956, 1964, 1965 and 1986 while a Cooraclare-Kilmihil combination were Clare senior champions in 1944.
