PATRICK CROTTY was one of the central figures behind Scariff’s turnaround claiming a Clare SHC quarter-final spot in dramatic fashion to see him secure the nod as the St Francis Credit Union / The Clare Echo player of the week.
Heading into the final round without a win, Scariff needed to defeat Crusheen by nine points or more and hope Éire Óg accounted for Broadford.
They did that and more, overcoming Crusheen 2-27 2-14 to advance to the knockout stages.
This was made happen by the strong displays of their leaders with Patrick very prominent once again for Donal Moloney’s side.
Consistent across the hour, whether it was carrying the ball from defence at pace or splitting the posts, Crotty was among the chief tormentors for Crusheen to send them into a relegation battle and more importantly to send Scariff back to the quarter-finals for the first time since 2024.
Crotty scored six points over the hour with Scariff hitting 1-9 without reply in the final quarter.
